About Kathy McKee Casting Director
You may not be familiar with the name Kathy McKee, but you will be captivated by her extraordinary, timely story of a lifelong show business career.
Kathy is a show business survivor who bedazzled the stages of Las Vegas as the first black lead showgirl in a French Production Line on the Las Vegas strip at 15 yrs old.
Kathy joined Sammy Davis Jr’s nightclub act as The Mistress of Ceremonies and performed in the top TV sitcoms of the day alongside legends like Redd Foxx and Richard Pryor. Kathy was AM Los Angeles morning show host on KHJ with Sandy Baron.
Kathy’s sister is well-known actress Lonette McKee. The two sisters have taught workshops and given lectures for over 10 years all around the world.
Lonette has starred in over 60 major motion pictures.

Extras are used to create realistic depictions of public places, scenes in restaurants, courtrooms, hallways, airports-these places are usually filled with extras walking and sitting, eating (miming) in the background.
All able-bodied citizens who want to be in the movies are urged to register. Extra work refers to employment as a background actor in film and television.
Breaking into the movie biz can be daunting. Being an extra is a great way to do it if you don't have much experience. It's a chance to network and get in the middle of the action. The business of background acting is one way of stepping into the movie business and making money. It's a real job, and one of the few jobs you get that is both work and fun. You leave your comfort zone and venture into the world of movie-making imagination, where things are not always as they seem (or are they?).

The Extras Database is how we find and audition & hire talent for background work. Its saves time in finding and locating the perfect actor for any role. Watch any movie and start counting all the people you see who don't talk on screen. It's practically impossible — especially in a major crowd scene! Of course, sometimes extras do get a lot of on-screen or "face" time, wear elaborate costumes and become an integral part of a film.
